Pune: The State government has revised the remuneration of honorarium/clock-hour basis (CHB) for various degree and postgraduate courses, for both theory as well as practical lectures, in non-government aided colleges under the Directorate of Higher Education.
While the remuneration of arts, science, commerce professors for undergraduate (UG) courses has been increased from Rs 300 per hour to Rs 500 for theoretical lectures, the same for professors of postgraduate (PG) courses in these streams, and the UG and PG professors of education and physical education and law has been raised to Rs 600 per hour for theory lectures.
As for the practical classes, the remuneration for the UG professors in arts, science and commerce has been increased from Rs 150 per hour to Rs 200, for the rest of the courses mentioned above, it has been increased to Rs 250 per hour.
The GR states that it is necessary that the CHB professors are given educational responsibilities according to the decided parameters. Also, it is necessary for the educational institutions to take a ‘no objection certificate’ (NOC) from the concerned divisional assistant director (Higher Education) before making appointments. Only two CHB professors could be appointed on for one full-time vacant position. Also, one professor can be given charge of a maximum of 9 hours. The CHB professor should be appointed for a maximum period of nine months in one academic year. They are not eligible to claim any of the rights or allowances given to permanent employees.
