An Online Appeal is the fastest and most efficient way to submit your Notice of Protest.
A FBCAD appraiser will review your protest and may offer to settle the matter through the online portal.
The appraiser is authorized to make changes to your property account and offer a new value if warranted.
Be sure to include with your Online Appeal all documentation that supports your argument. This may include photos, repair estimates, receipts, closing statements, etc. This substantially increases the effectiveness of your appeal and the likelihood of a favorable settlement.
Please note that an appraiser is not required to agree with your appeal and may not offer to reduce your property’s value. They will make a reasonable attempt to reconcile your concerns with the available market data, but must also maintain fairness with other properties in the neighborhood.
If a settlement is not reached, then you will have an option to schedule a hearing with the Appraisal Review Board.
An Online Appeal is considered an Informal Conference.
Delivering your Notice of Protest by US mail, email, or in-person forfeits your ability to file an Online Appeal.
Below you will find a step-by-step guide to navigating your Online Appeal and a link to the Online Appeal Registration.
