On the path to perfection 🏔️
Mercy Hospital has a very responsive customer support, but for a perfect rating, they’d need to visit ComplaintsBoard more frequently to check complaints and respond to them promptly 😉 As for reviewers, we can advise them to carefully read customer complaints (both positive and negative) and note aspects that can help in efficient problem-solving.

Mercy Hospital I started going to Mercy in May

I started going to Mercy in May . They overcharged me per EOBs by over $400. We tried many times to get this resolved. I was to have surgery in Dec 2020 & the Dr waived my co-pay of $300 for surgery, because of my billing issues. Since then, they've added back the $300. At most, I owe $110, but my balance is $515.

Starting in July I started seeing my insurance paying 75 percent and Mercy billing me 25 percent for one of my providers, Dr. *** Before July my insurance paid 100 percent and had been paying 100 percent since I first got a policy with them back in January . I contacted my insurance and they reviewed it. They said that Mercy has changed how they are billing the insurance. They told me they had contacted Mercy and informed them of the discrepancy. Mercy said they would review it. But as of today I am still getting calls wanting money for the visits. I refuse to pay the bill because there is no reason for Mercy to have changed the way they billed the insurance. When I tried calling Mercy Billing and told them what they insurance had told me. I got a runaround and they said they would have someone call me to discuss the bill. Yet no one ever called. The only resolution I will accept is they return their billing practices back to pre-July and bill my insurance the way they used to, where the insurance paid 100 percent.

Mercy Hospital I went in for a routine mammogram on 3/19 at Mercy Springfield

I went in for a routine mammogram on 3/19 at Mercy Springfield. They billed my insurance. They are sending me a bill for $73.77. According to my insurance with Blue Cross Clue Shield, I should not have to pay for a preventative appointment. I have spoke to Mercy and they told me insurance didn't pay it. Blue Cross Blue Shield says I owe nothing and they have paid the claims in full. BCBS is sending me the EOB that states my patient responsibility should be zero.

We tried to communicate with them, was given the runaround, then Medicare retracted their payment to them and the doctor just sent in a new claim, same date of service, different claim number so Mastercard paid the claim. This doctor has filed 4 claims so far for separate visits: [protected] , [protected] , [protected] , [protected] , not duplicate claims, same visit - alternating when Mastercard retracted payment - doctor sent claim in again under different claim number. We think they need to be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted. They are running a Medicare and insurance scam and we are sure *** isn't the only one they are doing this to! They show no interest in resolving theses charges and they know *** has never been a patient of theirs! They continue to send in new visits and charge Medicare and American Republic and someone with authority, power, knowledge and resources needs to put a stop to this Medicare fraud - who knows how many others they are doing this to!

Date of transaction: 07/31 with Dr. *** Amount in dispute: $215 Account number: *** Invoice number: *** Issue: Mercy Hospital is billing me for my visit without submitting a claim to my insurance company. I have been a patient for many years and I see Dr. *** every six months. My insurance pays for my visit 100% with no deductables or copay. For this last visit they just billed me and completely ignored my insurance. Now they say they have billed my insurance but are also encouraging me to pay as well. I have United Health Care AND Missoui medicaid. It is a "Special needs" insurance as I am disabled. My insurance company has told me they've never received a claim from Mercy and that my services are covered 100%.

Mercy Hospital I went to the doctor on 01/17 and they did a PSA test that my insurance company did not pay for because of the way they coded the test

I went to the doctor on 01/17 and they did a PSA test that my insurance company did not pay for because of the way they coded the test. My wife has made several phone calls to our insurance company and to Mercy concerning this issue. My wife called Mercy and told them how to recode the bill and even give them the phone number and a contact name at out insurance company and they would tell them how to code it for it to be paid for and Mercy will not call them or recode the bill for it to be paid for by out insurance company. Mercy called me today and told me that it was coded correctly and they would not recode it and I owe the bill so I went ahead and paid it or they would be turning it over to a collection company. Every time we go to Mercy we have to fight over their billing. This is not just happening to my family we are one of a few that will fight for what is correct.

I was seen by mercy hospital twice while I was still officially incarcerated by the federal government. My official release date was November 3rd. I have tried to work with them on numerous occasions to get them to bill the correct place so they can get paid. I have 2 Bill's that I owe them to hat the federal government has to pay because I was still incarcerated. I was put in to a collection agency 9 months back. I am still getting harrassed by mercy and the collection agency even though I am not responsible for payment of the 2 Bill's. No matter how much I talk with them I cannot get this issue fixed. I can provide the billing info they need to use and paperwork stating that I was still incarcerated.
